Meet Criss Cross Applesauce

If you haven't met Criss-Cross Applesauce well you are in for a real treat. Criss Cross came into our lives about 4 years ago when I first had him in my classroom and then brought him home for the summer. Well, Caidance would not let me bring him back to school so he has been hanging out with us for about 4 years now. We thought that we lost him about 6 months ago when he went missing when he got into some oil in the garage. All of a sudden, we saw him in the garage one day and Caidance could not believe that he was back. Caidance is so funny!! Every day she has him or her (I am not quite sure) dressed up in something different. Criss Cross has brought a lot of fun memories to our family. Enjoy the photos.

P.S. Daddy had to give him a new belly button after he went missing for several months. He could not even stand up straight, Poor little Criss Cross.

Dewberry Farm

What a fun day at the Dewberry Farm. Well at least the second go around we got to stay a little bit longer. The first trip to the farm, Caidance got sick about 20 minutes after we got there, so we had to leave. The next week Nanny and I took Vance, Caidance , and Shelby and we had the best time.

Come buy your tickets to the "Fashion Show"

If you want to meet a little girl who LOVES to dress up, Caidance is your girl. The other day I went to pick her up and she handed me a ticket when I walked in the door and it was a ticket to the "fashion show". She had set up chairs and would say, "Welcome to the fashion show please take a seat." Then everyone would clap. Even Shelby enjoyed the fashion show. She put on a fireman hat and would just giggle and giggle. I told her she looked sooo pretty and she looked at me and said, "Right on." I could not stop laughing.

Shelby has 2 "Toofies"

Shelby got her first tooth the very last week of September and the got her second tooth about 4 days later. She looks so cute with her little teeth and I think that she feels better now that they have come through.

What an adventure with 2 of the best girls in the world

Well fall is here and the pumpkins are out and we are all enjoying the weather. Caidance is enjoying Tiny Treasures and learning so much. However, she is a big girl now so she says that she does not go to Tiny Treasures, She goes to "School". She is doing so good with Shelby. She is such a big help. Shelby is growing so fast and thinks she is just as big as her sissy. She wants to crawl so bad. I am learning her personality every day. I thought she was going to be real passive and quiet and laid back. Boy was I wrong. She seems to speak her mind when there is something that she wants. She does not like it when Caidance sits in my lap. The other day Caidance was teasing her and Shelby kept screaming at her and then would giggle when Caidance would get up. She is having a tough time going to sleep at night. I think she is afraid that she is going to miss something. She absolutely loves it when Caidance is around her. She thinks her "sissy" hung the moon. She will laugh at whatever she does and Caidance loves to make her laugh. Shelby is also becoming a Nanny's girl. She loves her Nanny and when I go to pick her up after school, she will cling to her Nanny. If Shelby wants something, she will roll and roll and roll to get to it. I left the room for just a second and she had rolled across the entire living room. Our girls keep us on our toes and we love every minute of it.

She's Sitting up!!!

With school starting and getting into our schedule, it is has been really hard to keep up with the blog. However, Shelby is now 5 months (almost 6) and she has been accomplishing so many new things over this passed month. She is now sitting up, but still a little wobbly, she is rolling over (front to back and back to front) oh and she has found Caidance's hair and she loves to pull it. She did get a little head cold this month, but is doing much better. She weighs 15lbs and her little chunky legs are so adorable. Caidance is enjoying being a big sister. She started Tiny Treasures this month Oh! I mean SCHOOL! She said, "mommy it is not tiny treasures that I go to anymore because I get to play on the Big Playground, so I got to school now" Her teacher is Ms. Stacey and she really likes her alot and all of her little friends. She is learning her vowels and she can spell and write her name. Well that is my girls this month. Hope everyone is doing good.

Goodbye Summer

Well, my summer is officially over today. We have really had a nice summer this year. We didn't go anywhere, but we had a lot of fun going to the pool, library, shopping, and lot's and lot's of family came to visit us. Shelby has made lot's of accomplishments this summer. She started playing with her toys, giggling, and she makes this cute "spitting" noise. I know that sounds awful, but it is so cute coming from her. It is like she is trying to talk. She has also rolled over once for Nanny and Shelby. She is such an easy going baby. She is still sleeping in her car seat because of her reflux, but she sleeps all night in it, which is great. Caidance has had so much fun being a "little Mommy" to Shelby. She is great at entertaining her, feeding her, and making sure that she doesn't cry. Shelby has also been a mommy to a new kitten that its mom abandoned by our back door. She has really grown attached to this little kitten. She named it Cot and she makes sure that she is fed everyday and played with. Caidance loves to watch Sponge Bob, especially the "new episodes". She also loves to stay at Nanny's Castle. That is what she calls everyones house, "their castle". Caidance is going to be starting Tiny Treasures again this year. One more year until she will be in Kindergarten. I am already crying about that, I can't imagine what it is going to be like next year. I am so blessed that my mom can keep the girls during the year. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have her. Well, we are off to another great year and praying that it goes well.

Caidance's First Sewing Project

Caidance did such a great job today sewing her little fish pillow. She helped me cut out the pattern and pin it to the fabric. She has talked non stop about her fish pillow and sleeps with it every night. This is just one of her first sewing projects I am sure, but Nanny will probably have to do the next project because a fish pillow is about all I can do.

Shelby found her toes.

Well, I am going to have to get a picture of Shelby, but she has now officially found her little toes and she is so proud of herself. She is also beginning to hold on to her little toys, which Caidance is so happy about, because now she can hand her things. She is now 3 1/2 months old and doing so much better with her reflux. She has slept all night long for an entire week straight. Going to bed at 10:00 and waking up around 7:30 or 8:00. She is still sleeping in her car seat, which I hate to admit, but it is the only thing working right now. We are looking into getting her a nap nanny. If you have never heard of it, it is like a baby recliner for babies with reflux or have trouble sleeping. They are kind of expensive, but I just feel bad her having to sleep in her car seat. She is still taking her Zantac three times a day and it seems to finally be helping. She is so funny sitting in her bumbo chair because she will talk and coo for an hour straight. I think that she is going to be a talker or at least she likes the sounds that she can make.

Big sister is doing great. She is so wonderful with her little sissy. She will be playing and she will look over at me and say, "mommy will you do me a favor and keep an eye on Shelby so that she doesn't fall out of her bumbo seat." I will tell her, "sure, I will keep an eye on her."
The other night she told me that she wanted to give God a kiss so I told her to blow him a kiss to your heart because that is where Jesus lives. She said, "Oh that makes sense because if I try to blow it up to the clouds it will probably run out of batteries before it makes it to Jesus." I thought that was so sweet. Caidance has such a tender heart and just loves everyone. We are having a great summer together and wishing that it would slow down.

Dear Jesus

I have to tell this story because it is too precious not to, but it may me way to much information. Well, it all started when I was "pumping" to make Shelby a bottle since we were about to leave to go eat. Caidance came in the room and sat down beside me and said, "Mommy I am going to pray to Jesus that he will give you more milk for Shelby to be able to eat." Before I knew it she was leaned over with her hands closed praying, "Dear Jesus, please give mommy lot's of milk to feed Shelby." When she opened her eyes, she said, "Oh my goodness Jesus gave you more milk to feed Shelby".  We talked about how when we pray to God that he hears our prayers.
The next day I was playing in the floor with Shelby and Caidance  pretended like she was making her baby a bottle. I thought this was priceless, so I had to post a picture.

Summer Lovein' at Yogi Bear Park

O.k. if you have never been to Yogi Bear Park this is a MUST!!! This is our third year to go and it is so much fun. This year the entire gang came out to enjoy the fun. (My brother and his family, my family, and my parents). Usually it is just Nanny and I camping out with Vance and Caidance and we always have the best time. This year we fished, roasted marshmallows, ate breakfast with Yogi Bear, (well Nanny and Pawpaw took the kids), golfed, and of course rode all the slides in the park. It was a blast!!!!
