Summer Lovein' at Yogi Bear Park

O.k. if you have never been to Yogi Bear Park this is a MUST!!! This is our third year to go and it is so much fun. This year the entire gang came out to enjoy the fun. (My brother and his family, my family, and my parents). Usually it is just Nanny and I camping out with Vance and Caidance and we always have the best time. This year we fished, roasted marshmallows, ate breakfast with Yogi Bear, (well Nanny and Pawpaw took the kids), golfed, and of course rode all the slides in the park. It was a blast!!!!

Hi-Ho-Hi-Ho to the Blueberry Farm we go!!!!

Well we are nearing the end of June and we made our summer trip to the blueberry farm. In case you do not know this about Caidance, she loves to pick things. Flowers, fruits, vegetables, weeds, etc....She started this when she was about 5 months old. Thanks to PawPaw :)
Anyway, she loves the blueberry farm, so we asked our good friend Abby and her kiddos and mom to join us this year with my girls and Nanny.  Let me tell you, the heat was unbearable. We got there about 9:30 and it was soooo HOT. The kids loved it anyway and we got some really cute pictures. We joined our blueberries together and it came out to be about 1lb which is just enough for some great blueberry muffins. I tried to get a picture of Shelby in a bucket, but it just did not work out the way I wanted it too and it was way to hot to try something different.
Oh before I forget. Caidance spent the night with "her nanny", as she calls her, the night before and in her prayer she prayed, "God if I pick the red blueberry on accident I am going to ask for forgiveness" Help me to remember to pick the dark purple ones because those are the ones you are supposed to pick. She is just too cute and has such a BIG vocabulary. Her language arts teachers will be proud of her :) I will upload more soon as we go through our summer.

Being a Mom of Two Girls

I cannot explain the joy that I have every day being a mom of two precious girls. Each day is an adventure, not always an easy one, but I would not trade it for anything. God has blessed our family so much. Caidance loves being a big sister, but there are times when she demands a little more attention. Well, just for example when you start talking to Shelby she runs over and wants to talk to her too, even if, at the time, she was not even in the same room. I feel so bad when Caidance will want me to get down on the floor and play "princess" with her and all of her "princess" dolls, when I just sat down and started feeding Shelby. I will tell her, "Let me finish feeding Shelby and then I will get on the floor and play." She is very quick to tell me, "Mommy you have one free hand to play with me."  Usually, I just have to play the voices of the characters and she is happy.  All in all, she is a great big sister and such a great help. She never complains and she loves to take care of her "sissy." We have had to set aside several times to just have "Caidance" time so that she always knows how special she is and that nobody will take that away from her. Shelby has been such a great baby. She started sleeping through the night a couple of weeks ago, but then we have had a few nights in the passed week where she has been waking up two and three times and I cannot get her back to sleep.   We have tried two different medicines for her reflux, and I thought that it was getting better, but lately it seems to be coming back pretty bad at night. Shelby has her own sweet personality. She loves her momma and wants to be held ALL the time! We joke about her cat naps. However, if she is in her momma's arms she sleeps for hours. Yes, I have spoiled her, but they only stay little for such a short time. We are enjoying our summer and wish that it would slow down, but for now, we are just going to take it a day at a time and enjoy every minute of every day. God has blessed us beyond our means with our little family.

The Girls got their ears pierced.

Well, I am kind of posting this a little late, but it was about a week before Caidance turned 4 and we were coming home from church and she said that she wanted to get her ears pierced. So we did!! We took the girls to Merle Norman and everyone came for the excitement. Nanny, Papaw (with his paparazzi camera) daddy and me were all there. Caidance, of course, went first and she did so well. The lady did one ear at a time and Caidance did not even move or cry. I was so proud of her. She was so excited to see her new earrings. Shelby, on the other hand, cried and cried, but she looked so pretty when it was all over.

Shelby's First Smile

This week has been a very exciting week because Shelby has started smiling. It is such a joy to look at her and see her beautiful smile. What is so precious is that Caidance can really get her to smile big. School is finally out and I can enjoy it with my girls. I am looking forward to spending time with them and enjoying all the fun moments together as a family.
