Ring in the New Year

I don't know where time goes, but 2010 is gone and 2011 is here! I know that God has great plans for us this year and I am very anxious to see what they are. This blog has been alot of fun going back and seeing how much my girls have grown and all the new things that they have learned. This is where we are at to start off this great year.

Caidance is 5 years old and is enjoying kindergarten a lot. She is very much into mario bros this year. She cracks me up every time she plays the wii or her DS because she sounds just like her daddy when she plays. She is getting into wanting to go deer hunting. She got a pink BB gun for Christmas and shot her first can from about 30 feet away. She is very girly, but when she wants to, she can switch gears and hang with the big boys. She has seen alot of movies this year, but I think that her favorite one is Despicable Me. I think that we watched it about 7 times in one day! I have to admit, I love that show! It is a must see! She has also gone to see Tangled, and Yogi Bear and really enjoyed both of those shows. She took a friend to the movies for the first time this year and saw Toy Story 3. On another note, I think Caidance is beginning to be a much more pickier eater than ever before. I am having a very hard time finding some things that she likes (any help would be appreciated). I think her favorite food is grilled cheese sandwiches and she would probably eat them every day if I would let her. She does tend to like to be the boss over Shelby. If Shelby is getting into something she says at the top of her voice, "OH NO SHELBY" I think that we have disturbed the neighbors quite a few times, but hey if it keeps Shelby out of getting into things then whatever works. Her favorite stuffed animal is her little kitty Cot. She loves to have a ton of books on her bed at night so that she can read them before she goes to bed. My little Caidance is the most tender hearted little girl and says the sweetest prayers at night. Every night she prays for papaw to come home safely and for all her friends and family and for sweet dreams. She also prays for the students in her class to be R3. I could go on and on but I guess I will stop there. She is mommies little cupcake!

Shelby is 21 months old and growing too fast. I am just not ready for her to be 2 years old just yet. Shelby has grown a very cute and funny personality over the passed year. Her facial expressions are like no other 1 year olds. If she is mad at you, she will turn her head and try to ignore you, but then try not to smile. She is having alot of trouble sharing. When Caidance is in my lap she will scream and try to push her off. Caidance is usually really sweet and scoots over and sais, "look Shelby I will share." Some of the funny things that she does: She loves to "slam" the microwave door shut after you have warmed up her milk. If she wants you to pick her up, she will clap twice and then hold out her hands. She is starting to get a little "sneaky" and try to get out of her car seat by telling you that she is "poopy" . She is still doing her funny faces: croaker, cutie pie face, snakey face, and her new one, the monkey! When her daddy gives me a kiss, she thinks that she needs to give a kiss too. She can't be out kissed. LOL When she wakes up from her naps she throws everything on the floor that was in her bed and then claps her hands twice for you to pick her up. This little girl loves her "sitty" She wants to be everywhere her Sitty is. Last night she called me in her room and said, "momma miss sitty." I almost started crying because I knew that she missed her because she had been at her nanny's for 2 days. She loves to hang on her and love on her. I am so blessed that they have each other. Shelby also knows when we are getting close to Nanny's house because she starts giggling and screaming Nanny, Nanny. I am not sure she has quite grasped what the word "NO" means because every question you ask her, she will say in her little country voice, "Nooooo" but then get excited about whatever it is. Her new word is Awesome! LOL. Shelby can now wear two little pig tails. She started wearing a tiny ponytail back in August, but the pig tails are just too cute. She is starting to take her diaper off and go throw it in the trash, so I am not sure if this is a sign that we are ready to potty train or what. Shelby loves attention and she will call your name until you answer her and then she will do something silly like the splits and say, "see". Well, I am going to stop there with my little Shel boo!
