Daaaaaddddyyyy! Daaddyy! DADDY!

Shelby is laying in her bed tonight saying, "daaaaddddyyyy" daaaddyyy, DADDDY!!! Very short and to the point on the last call for her daddy!!LOL When she realizes that her daddy is not going to go into her room she then persists to say, "oowww" "oowww" "daddy I said owww"! She is just too funny! So her daddy walks into her room, thinking that she hurt herself, and she is sitting up Indian style on her bed with her cup in her hand. Her daddy says, " would you like some more milk or juice?" Shelby puts her finger to her lip (like she is thinking) and then in her cutest little voice she says, "coke peas" LOL!!! I think NOT!!!

The day has finally arrived!

Well, Shelby is now 21 months old and has been having 1 and 2 ear infections a month since she has been 6 weeks old. The infections gradually became worse that she had so much fluid build up that they also had to remove her adenoids. We had the original date set for December 31st and had to have it changed about 3 times because of either conflict with the doctor or our schedule. Anyway, she finally had them done on January 18th at Texas Children's hospital. I was a very nervous mommy because I just wanted everything to go fine and I have never had to go through putting one of my kids to sleep before. The doctors were amazing and everyone was so nice and comforting. They gave Shelby a really cute little yellow "gown" to wear for her surgery and she went straight to the doctor with her hands out when it was time to go back, which made it very helpful for me. The surgery took about 30 minutes to an hour so Caidance and her daddy went to the gift shop to buy Shelby a little present for when she woke up. Of course we had to let big sissy get something to! Caidance got a frog and she got Shelby a poodle that gives kisses. Shelby came out of surgery and they called us back and Shelby was not a very happy camper. She screamed and screamed and screamed for 45 minutes. The doctor wanted to keep her hooked up to the iv's to make sure everything was o.k. and to keep an eye on her and I think that was the longest 45 minutes of my life. She pulled at the tubes and cried and screamed and tried to climb out of our arms. We tried to give her a popsicle, but she just was not having it. We finally made it through and we eventually were on our way home with Nanny, daddy, Shelby, Caidance and me all in the truck! After the medicine finally wore off she felt so much better and seems to be doing great! We are so thankful that it is over and we can put it all behind us!
